Solventis Ltd is delighted to announce the opening of its new storage and blending terminal in the heart of Antwerp.
A total of 65 storage tanks with a combined capacity of 40,000 cbm are now in use. In addition, there is a state of the art blending plant for automotive products and two fully automatic drumming lines, along with storage for 10,000 filled drums. Ships of up to 20,000 mt DWT and barges can be discharged at the new jetty. A further twenty seven new tanks are in construction and will be ready by December 2016.
David Lubbock, CEO of Solventis, said, “this new terminal is the largest and most extensive distribution facility operated by any distributor in Europe. It enables us to offer distribution facilities to new and existing producers of petrochemicals looking for a secure outlet in Europe. It also assures our customers of our long term commitment to the business.
Solventis exports products to all corners of the globe and our export department now benefits from having all the products available in one dedicated facility where we can offer drums, ibc’s and flexitank deliveries.
Our sister company, Antwerp Distillation Company, located on the same site, produces a range of high quality glycols and glycol ethers utilising locally available feedstocks. These products are key raw materials for antifreeze and brake fluids where Solventis is one of the main European manufacturers.”
Solventis is also pleased to announce that we have been awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in 2016. This prestigious award, which will be presented by Her Majesty the Queen at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on July 14th, further demonstrates the dedicated work by our staff in Europe in serving our customers and is a recognition of which we are rightly very proud.
