Butyl poly glycol (also known as BPGL) is a brown liquid with a pungent odour.  It is miscible with water.

How is it stored and distributed?

Butyl poly glycol should be stored and transported in carbon steel/stainless steel drums and/or phenolic lined steel drums.  It has a specific gravity of 1.011 and a flash point of 174 °C (closed cup).  It is not regulated for any form of transport but is classed as an Irritant and carries the risk of serious damage to eyes.

What is Butyl Poly Glycol used for?

Butyl poly glycol is used both as a hydraulic fluid component and an organic intermediate.
